PLANNING
The District was organized and approved by a majority vote in 1996. Prior to and since that time there have been at least three major “evaluation and planning studies” related to ground water, Lake Cascade water contamination, health concerns and waste water treatment needs.
There have been changes in the makeup of the Board and in the local economy. The current Board believes it is time to reassess the prudence of a major treatment plant construction option. Various smaller scale possibilities are being investigated including pump out collection systems and associated transport to existing treatment plants. The Board is also interested in consolidating service areas into more efficient groupings, and allowing withdrawal of properties that cannot be reasonably serviced due to costs.
Costs
The District is currently evaluating the most advantageous options for a treatment collection and disposal. Patrons will be provided with information as we are able to define parameters and refine costs.
